Joy Barron, DVM

Veterinarian / Owner

Born and raised in Madison, Dr. Joy Barron grew up watching her father, Dr. John Petscher, care for all creatures great and small. This experience formed a passion for animals, their health and well-being, and the science behind their care. Dr. Barron attended Purdue University where she earned a bachelors degree in general agriculture in 2003 and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2008. After graduating from Purdue, she worked at a multiple doctor practice in Indianapolis for 2 years. In 2010, Dr. Barron joined the Madison Animal Clinic and is happy to be back in the clinic where she grew up! Her clinical interests include soft tissue surgery, internal medicine, ultrasound and providing a fear-free environments for pets. Outside of work Dr. Barron and her husband, Matt, enjoy spending time outdoors, working on their hobby farm, and caring for their ever expanding menagerie of pets including 6 dogs, 5 cats, 2 pigs, and 17 chickens.
